Below is an interview with Rob Mosser who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.

Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property
Wachesaw Plantation East Golf Club opened in December of 1996. Golf course architect Clyde Johnston carved this layout out of the grounds of a former rice plantation representing the best of traditional Scottish design. On this 140 acre property, golfers discover that after 18 holes of golf, you will have used most if not all of the clubs in your bag. With a variety of shapes and lengths, these golf holes will be sure to give you easy, challenging, fun and new golf shots each time you play.

If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course?
Wachesaw Plantation East is a super value based on the price range of courses here in Myrtle Beach. Great conditions along with welcoming friendly faces make for an enjoyable golfing experience. Also, what if a golfer wants to play a course that professionals have played, come to Wachesaw East. For four years, Wachesaw East was a regular tour stop for the LPGA. Various memorabilia is showcased in our trophy case showing the event's history as well as a huge record setting scorecard shot by LPGA tour player Meg Mallon.

What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
Use your favorite and most reliable club off the tees here at Wachesaw East. Stayng in the fairways is critical for avoiding big numbers. Once you get to the greens, you should be able to sink some putts on the quick true-rolling surfaces and save some strokes there.

Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course?
In 2007, Wachesaw Plantation East was named by the Myrtle Beach Golf Course Owners Association, Course of the Year. Other awards such as Golf for Women magazine "Top 100 Fairways" and Golf Digest Service Ace Award - #13 in the United States for Customer service rank among our proudest awards.

What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
Hole #17 named Azalea is our signature hole and one that is discussed most from golfers after the round. A risk-reward par 5 with two fairways, this hole boasts some of the best and worst scores on your foursome's card. While the landing area from the tee shot is generous, the layup shot is super demanding. A creek and freshwater lake make for hazardous boundaries for this stretch of the hole. While long hitters can attempt to reach the green in two, beware of the creek winding in front of the green and the false front greenside left. I have personally had balls hit this portion of the green and roll back off into the creek. Good luck!

What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It?
Hole number 18 is my favorite golf hole here at Wachesaw East. It is the longest par 4 and probably the most difficult hole. It gives you a couple options off the tee again, leaving the decision to the golfer to play aggressively or safely Playing safely will leave a long iron or utility club in your hand to hopefully carry uphill to the green. Favor the right side if at all possible!

Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
The Plantation Terrace is a must visit for an ice cold beverage after the round. Outside our clubhouse, we have a bar and patio area to relax and enjoy the scenery. Giving views of the 10th tee, the fountain and practice area, it stands as a golfer's favorite place to add up their scores.

Who Holds Course Record and What Was Their Score?
Meg Mallon holds the course record with a 62 from the Men's white tees. This record was shot during the 1998 City of Hope Myrtle Beach Classic LPGA Tour event. At the time, it was an all time LPGA scoring record as well. Her scorecard is located in our grille room showing how she conquered Wachesaw East that day!
