International Club of Myrtle Beach Purchased by Chris Manning Communities
Popular Layout Will Be Managed By East Coast Golf
By Chris King
International Club of Myrtle Beach, long regarded as one of the Grand Strand's hidden gems, has been purchased by Chris Manning Communities, a premier lifestyle and residential community developer.
In concert with the purchase, Manning entered into a long-term agreement with East Coast Golf to manage all club operations, ensuring International Club continues to deliver the quality and value players have come to expect from the Willard Byrd design.
International Club opened in 2000 and the 6,857-yard layout features a series of finger lakes, natural wetlands, and a mixture of hardwood and pine tree-lined fairways.
As a result of its partnership with East Coast Golf, International Club will be part of the Myrtle Beach Golf Trail, a collection of more than 20 area golf courses that provide an exceptional membership program for locals and golf packages for vacationers.
Moving forward, International Club will focus on providing a sense of community for area residents and those efforts include plans to re-develop the practice area and clubhouse complex to accommodate enhanced club functionality.
Manning previously partnered with East Coast Golf to manage and develop Grand Harbor Golf and Yacht Club in Greenwood, S.C.
"We are excited about the opportunity to work with Chris Manning Communities again at International Club," said Mike Buccerone, President of ECG "At all our golf courses, we are committed to making the club the focal point of the community."
