Barefoot Resort & Golf offers a non-equity Family Membership to property owners in residential developments designated for membership eligibility. Owners may choose to enroll in one of two privilege levels, one including both golf and social benefits and the other offering social benefits only. Both levels necessitate payment of monthly dues. Owners must also pay an initiation or transfer fee to join, which, in the case of certain new real estate purchases, is covered by the developer. In the case of resale property, the buyer pays either a transfer or initiation fee to Barefoot Resort & Golf to secure membership depending on whether the property has a membership attached or not. The Resort Family Membership is currently valued at $20,000.

The Monticello Golf Club at Savannah Lakes Village is the second of two lakefront golf courses within the 4,000-acre community. The golf course (named after Thomas Jefferson's estate) was completed in 2000. The layout is a modern links course with fewer trees and lots of water.

1. Golf Membership - Golf membership is beneficial for those golfers who play at least once per week at Penny Branch. In addition to offering golf at a preferential rate, golf members receive discounts on certain items in the pro shop, are automatically members of Penny Branch Golf Association at The CaddyShack, and are offered preferred tee times on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. In addition, golf members have the option of participating in the handicap program and South Carolina Golf Association events. The golf membership is offered to a limited number of participants.
